Hello I’m Bronwyn Burrowes, welcome to BrAVERYou.
I’m a qualified counsellor and personal development educator, Certified Brené Brown Daring Way™ Facilitator and Founder of BraverYou.
BraverYou is my way of celebrating my desire to see people knowing themselves, trusting themselves and being true to themselves and despite their circumstances, living a life they feel proud of.
I had spent a lot of my life feeling like I quite didn’t fit in or quite measure up or didn’t quite have enough to offer. I thought I was the only person who felt like this and so I hid it away and tried to pretend everything was OK. Sound familiar? After realising I didn’t want to keep living trying to be all things to all people I became interested in emotional and mental health and graduated with a bachelor of counselling in 2010. I worked with people one on one for 10 years as a way of offering hope, belonging and significance to anyone who has ever felt alone.
I came across Dr Brené Brown some years ago and her work on authenticity and wholehearted living instantly resonated with me. I went about training in her methodology in 2016 and I feel honoured to be one of the first to be an official facilitator of her work The Daring Way™ and Rising Strong™ here in New Zealand.
You may notice that BraverYou incorporates the symbol of an arrow. This arrow is about forward movement and motion, the action of getting from one place to another with clarity and purpose. We know it takes bravery and courage to step out of your comfort zone so we designed our arrowhead as a heart. We want you to know that we will extend love, empathy and compassion to you as you move forward and look into the future.
BraverYou is my way of offering to you the skills and tools I learnt along the way that have helped me show up and live a life I am proud of.

People are important and everyone is significant and valuable. I believe that one of the foundations of human experience is based around living in connected and healthy relationships. Healthy relationships don’t necessarily remove pain or suffering but in the sharing of our lives we have the chance to experience belonging, connection and purpose.
Acceptance of myself and all my eccentricities has been key to my ability to live my life extending compassion to myself and others. Acceptance allows me to live free of judgement and the need to prove my worthiness and is a core value I embrace.
The ability to live your life believing that your specific individuality and uniqueness is important to those around you. Being able to live a life where you are proud of who you are and what you have to offer is invaluable. Authenticity offers you a chance to live life trusting yourself, acknowledging your needs and in control of who you want to be.
